Tonight we go to the Big East in a battle of teams that are going nowhere this year as Creighton takes on the Butler Bulldogs. These teams are not what they used to be, especially not Butler, as they are under .500 in a rebuilding year of offensive futility.
Creighton has been up and down all year, and currently, they are up as they are on a small two-game winning streak blowing out St. Johns and Depaul by double digits. The key to both wins has been their improved defense. When you play Butler, the 334th ranked offense, a team scoring 62 points a game playing into their hands. Creighton is 25th in the country, holding opponents to under 40% shooting, and Butler is 294th, shooting just over 41%. One team plays defense and stops the scoring the other can't score, proven by their last four games where they scored 42, 59, 56, and a big 62. In three of those games, they didn't even make 20 baskets which is why they lost by 40, 17, 19, and 7. All of those numbers would be great tonight, and we feel that's what will happen with the Bulldogs.

Butler only got four free throws in the last game and only made 1 (how is that possible). It's incredible how they stayed so close.
Offensively this team is 248th or worse in almost every major category, including 341st at rebounds, getting under 28 a game, while Creighton is 28th, reaching nearly 37 a game. If Creighton gets ten more rebounds, we feel confident they will win this game. A team where your leading scorer averages only 10.8 points a game against a team with four guys averaging over 11.7 a game, I think we can trust the four guys over the one guy to score enough for us to win.
