ANALYSIS

TCU vs. LSU Prediction: Can TCU Cash the Upset?

Saturday afternoon, we will have an early college basketball battle between the LSU Tigers and the TCU Horned Frogs. The Tigers come into this game with an overall record of 16-4, which is good for the nation's nineteenth ranking. This is an interesting LSU team led by head coach Will Wade as they came into this season with hopes for March, but they have exceeded national expectations to this point in the season.

TCU vs. LSU Line Movement

TCU vs. LSU Prediction

LSU has been led in the points category by forward Tari Eason, who is scoring nearly sixteen points per game. The leader in assists and rebounds for the Tigers may both be inactive on Saturday afternoon. Xaver Pinson, who is a transfer from Missouri, was playing great basketball for the Tigers when he went down with an injury leading them in the assist department averaging nearly five dimes per game. Darius Days, the Tiger's leading rebounder, also has been bothered by an injury and may be absent for this Big Twelve SEC showdown.

The Horned Frogs have had a very impressive season in their own right. Led by former Pittsburgh head coach Jamie Dixon, this is a gritty team who has been swept under the rug a bit by the national media. This team plays hard on the defensive end and is an opponent that not many teams enjoy playing against due to their style of play. TCU is allowing 61.4 points per game which will be countered by LSU, allowing just 58.4 points per game. This game could turn into a rock fight, a style both of these teams are comfortable playing in. This season, the leader for TCU has been sophomore guard and the pride of Highlands Texas Mike Mies. Miles is scoring north of fifteen points per game while also dishing four assists per contest.

I will be backing the dog in this game in the TCU Horned Frogs. I think this line is telling us the story as LSU is the more talented team but may be short-handed in this game, and they are on the road. TCU has been a very good home team, but they are coming off an embarrassing loss in a game we took Texas in. Texas dominated that game from start to finish, so TCU will be looking to avoid back-to-back home losses.

LSU has been on a bit of a slide losing three of their last four games, and this is a good time in the season to fade LSU while missing some of their big guns. I think TCU will match up pretty well across the board in this game and will have some chances to take advantage of mismatches. The crowd will certainly be a factor here, so I love getting the home team as an underdog. I believe TCU will win this thing outright, but I will be safe and take the three points at -115. Let's start our Saturday hot with some easy cash!
