Colorado vs. Oregon Prediction: Will the Ducks Have the Edge Tonight?

Tonight we will find out if lightning can strike the same team twice. I don't think lightning strikes a person twice or they are unlucky so let's hope the same thing can be said in sports. So tonight, we go out to the Rocky Mountains, and we see if Oregon and the quack attack can finish what they started against the Colorado Buffaloes in a Pac 12 matchup on FS1 for your viewing pleasure.

Colorado vs. Oregon Prediction

We watched the first meeting back in Eugene, where Oregon came out like gangbusters up 15-2, 22-8, 30-17. It was a blowout the whole first half. They were up double digits with under 3 minutes left at 40-29, yet the first half ended 42-37. After that, it got sloppy fast, and when they came out in the second half, they were turning it over, playing even sloppier but were still in it, leading until an ice storm fell over with 5:44 left in the game they hit some free throws to be down by two. Who knew those free throws would be it for a while as they didn't score again until 1:46 was left on the clock. They were in it the whole game, but the turnovers, missed threes, and no teamwork as it turned into an individual game beat them. When you look at the game, they had more shots, but they got outrebounded, they missed a lot more shots, more threes, and the one man they had to stop Jabari Walker they didn't. Tonight their second-best player (Colorado) Tristan da Silva is probably out as he hasn't played since the first meeting, and if he does, Oregon should truly have an edge tonight.

We can throw out trends numbers because they were conflicting and didn't work in the first meeting. Still, these teams have been alternating wins and losses ATS, and tonight is Oregon's turn. And we also think that a team that held its opponents to 56 before and after the Colorado game will not give up 82 or 50% shooting again tonight.

In the last meeting, Keyshawn Barthelemy (19 points) also had the best game of his career as he drove the lane a lot, and we feel Oregon has made adjustments, and this man won't do it again. So stop Walker and win the game. It's that simple here. Another advantage tonight will be Tad Boyle. The coach of the Buffaloes is in COVID protocol, so Mike Rohn will have his first crack, and I think we have the coaching edge there tonight. Also, since the first matchup, Oregon went back to blowing teams out as they blew out civil war rival Oregon State by 22, and Colorado lost their next two games, including what Coach Boyle said was his worst loss in 12 years as a coach there when they lost by 27 at Washington State a game we won ATS.

Oregon players remember the first game, "This is bigger than us," Oregon forward Eric Williams Jr. said. "This is for (coach Dana) Altman and the program." Altman has never won at Colorado (0-8). But, tonight, that all changes because the better team wins, and lightning will not strike twice in this matchup. So lay the -2 available at FanDuel and DraftKings and watch the Ducks finish what they started a week ago with that 15-2 blazing start and cover the bucket.
