Happy Friday, everyone, to celebrate the weekend. Let’s kick it off with some college hoops. We went 1-0 on yesterday's basketball bets which is technically a sweep, so we can do it again! The UConn Huskies will take on the Xavier Musketeers in a Big East showdown.

Xavier vs. Connecticut Prediction

The first thing to note is these are two teams we will see in March madness. I actually tweeted out yesterday UConn to win the national championship game at +8000 is great value because I believe this team has a shot to go deep in March. They are an experienced team led by guard RJ Cole and sophomore big man Adma Sanogo. They also have solid shooting to support these guys, including Tyrese Martin and senior Tyler Polley.

Xavier is led by veteran guard Paul Scruggs and big man Jack Nunge. Nunge is an Iowa transfer who has been outstanding for the Musketeers this season. Their other big man Zach Fremantle was slated to be one of the best big men in the conference but has struggled this season to find a rhythm. This matchup on paper could not be much closer as UConn enters play ranked twenty-fourth while Xavier comes in with the twenty-third ranking in all of the nation. UConn is 7-4 in the conference, which is good for third, while Xavier is in the middle of the pack playing to an even 6-6 conference record this season. The stage will be set for a great game tonight 

I will be backing the Connecticut Huskies in this game tonight. I love the fact we can get them at + money here, as I believe they are the much better team when you get down to it. I mentioned the struggles of big man Zach Fremantle and UConn has a great combo of big men. I think the size for UConn in this game will really show up, and their ability to create great looks off paint touches will be a thing of beauty. UConn is the much more physical team, and I think that could be the difference in this game tonight.

I also want to look at this line. Typically a home conference game when you are about even according to rankings, you will be more than a one-point favorite. This line is a bit off to me, and if it were 2.5/3, I’d be on the other side. At this stage in the season, these games are so pivotal, so you are gonna get 100% effort on both sides tonight. I am excited to watch this one go down, and I will be backing the UConn Huskies in this one tonight as the dog!
