ANALYSIS

Detroit vs. Northern Kentucky Prediction: It's Time People

We've finally done it. We've finally reached the part of the year where our bankrolls are at the whim of teenagers throwing a ball at a hoop. We should celebrate by betting a couple of mid-majors tonight. For some people, college basketball lasts from November to basically the end of March. For me, it starts in February and ends after the tournament. It's not that I don't like college hoops, it's just that the NBA keeps my palate satisfied. There's just not much need to stray until the all-star break. Luckily for us, tonight I've found the greatest college basketball bet I've ever seen. It's the perfect way to dive into the sport. Think cannonball entry into a crowded pool. I can't wait.

Detroit vs. Northern Kentucky Line Movement

Northern Kentucky ML (-105) (Bet $105 to Win $100)

*Odds Available at DraftKings at Time of Publishing*

I chose DraftKings because they have -105 for this one. Over at FanDuel they are hanging -110. It doesn't sound like a big difference but it is. It just is. BetMGM is also offering -105 so they are an option as well. It's all deadly really.

Now I haven't watched any college basketball but it's just like riding a bike. Handicapping it doesn't change. You just have to know kids and how they play basketball. Easy stuff. Knowing what I know, Northern Kentucky should win tonight.

This is a classic revenge spot for the Norse. It all started on February 5th when the Detroit Mercy Titans visited the BB&T Arena at Northern Kentucky. The Norse were riding a six-game winning streak and looked poised to keep the party going. Then Detroit proceeded to shoot 52% from the field en route to a win as 3.5-point dogs.

It sucks to watch a team like Detroit come into your house and shoot 10% higher than what they average on the season. It's definitely something you don't forget. I've done some digging into the Norse and they have a few dawgs in Marques Warwick, Sam Vinson, and Trevon Faulkner that aren't going to let this slide.

They've actually already started to get a little revenge. In the three games since the loss to Detroit, they've gone on the road and whipped three different schools. One team they beat 75-39. This is a classic "ball don't lie" situation. I'm putting my Friday night on Northern Kentucky winning this game.
