College Basketball Best Bet: Welcome to the Heater
We're officially on a heater after the Notre Dame win yesterday and honestly, it feels good. I love being on a heater. It just makes everything else feel fun. You could literally be doing anything while on a heater and it would feel fun. That's just how heaters work. Today I'm cleaning out my garage and I can't wait. Why? Because I'm on a heater. Science people. Luckily for us, the college kids are playing basketball again today. I love when they do that because that means we can bet on them. What you want to do in a situation like this is find a game that will be on television and smash it. Preferably one that starts early. I did just that so you don't have to.
Wichita State 1H Team Total Over 28.5 @ -125 (Bet $125 to win $100)
Odds available at DraftKings at time of publishing
I'm at DraftKings for this one since they have 28.5 even though I hate the -125. It's crazy to pay that in this economy but we have to do what we have to do. Both Barstool and FanDuel are tossing out 29.5 at a smaller price but every point matters in college hoops. Especially in a first half. I'll just drink the juice.
Here's the thing, Houston is the best team in the best team in the AAC. Everyone knows that. But this is college hoops. Records don't always matter early in these games. These kids get all jacked up in front of their friends and show out. Especially the games on ESPN.
Energy is fun but we also need the kids to be good. Wichita State is firmly in the "not that bad" category. They can play with anyone. At least for a half. In fact, they haven't gone under this number in any first half of any game since the one against Norfolk State back on December 11th. That includes a game at Houston.
If you can't play the team total here, the Over 62.5 (-110) for both teams is in play as well. I'm playing both. The last two games Houston has played on the road has seen 73 and 91 points in the first half. They look like a team that gets wild on defense at home but then can't match it on the road. Either way, we should see some points in the first half from both teams. This feels like a perfect way to start today.
