Sunday's College Basketball Picks and Predictions: Two Picks for Sunday's Games

Hartford vs. Stony Brook Prediction

Hartford is a team that got off to a dreadful start this year, but it has to be taken with a grain of salt as they played a very tough schedule. Their record does not indicate how good they are and what they are capable of, and they have played much better over the second half of the season in conference play. Hartford has been playing particularly well at home as they even took down Vermont in their home arena when they were nearly 12-point underdogs. Both teams play at a fairly fast-paced and think Hartford will be able to get whatever they want on offense against a Stony Brook team who has struggled on that side of the ball this year. These 2 teams played yesterday so this is a weird scheduling spot to play back-to-back days and think that favors the home team here. There were nearly 100 points scored in the 2H of their matchup so if Hartford can somewhat contain Anthony Roberts and the up-tempo Stony Brook offense, I think Hartford should be able to go into halftime with a lead here as I am rolling with Hartford 1H ML -130 for one of today's Best Bets.

Loyola (MD) vs. Lehigh Prediction

This is a patriot league matchup and I think there is solid value backing the home team here. Lehigh is a team who has been struggling a lot lately, especially on the road as they have gone 0-3 in their last 3 road games. In particular, they have been struggling in the 1H of their last few games as well as they have gone 1-4 straight up in the 1H over their last 5 games. Loyola MD is a team that has protected their home court quite well with a 9-3 record in their home arena and their only losses have come to Colgate, Navy, and Boston U who are currently the top 3 teams in the standings. Loyola MD has a great 1-2 punch with their two star guards, Cam Spencer and Jaylin Andrews. Spencer is a 6'4 combo guard who is averaging 19/5/4 on 48% shooting and 36% from deep and Andrews is averaging 15/4/2 on 41% shooting and 31% from deep. Both of these guys can take over a game and Lehigh really lacks a true scoring threat as their top scorer is only at 13ppg. Lehigh mainly scores by committee and can at times go on long scoring droughts due to a lack of continuity in their offense. I think Loyola MD will get off to a fast start here so with that being said, I am rolling with Loyola MD 1H -1.5 at -115 as I think they'll go into halftime with at least a 2-point lead here.
