Wyoming vs Colorado State Prediction: Can Wyoming Pull Off The Upset?

The Wyoming Cowboys are currently 22-4 on the season. As of now, it looks like the Mountain West will have multiple teams in the NCAA Tournament. The Cowboys weren't projected to have this kind of year, but Wyoming knew what they had coming into this season.

Now the Cowboys will head out to Fort Collins, Colorado to take on the Colorado State Rams in a big Mountain West matchup. Just like Wyoming, Colorado State has just four losses this year, but one of those losses came in overtime against Wyoming, on the road.

Can Wyoming complete the regular-season series sweep against the Rams? Here are our picks and predictions for the Mountain West matchup between the Wyoming Cowboys and the Colorado State Rams.

Wyoming vs Colorado State Line Movement

Wyoming vs Colorado State Prediction

This is going to be an absolute battle in the Mountain West.

The Wyoming Cowboys are shooting an effective field goal percentage of 54.3 percent while only turning the ball over 16.3 percent of the time. While the Cowboys don't earn a whole lot of offensive rebounds, they make up for it by getting to the line at one of the highest rates in college basketball.

Wyoming is also shooting 57.4 percent from inside the arc and 33.1 percent from deep. The Cowboys still have plenty of capable shooters and blend in around the two stars of the team including Graham Ike and Hunter Maldonado.

Colorado State, on the other hand, should be able to hold Wyoming off the offensive glass but haven't defended at the highest level this season. Opponents are shooting a 50.1 percent effective field goal percentage against the Rams and are hitting 33.4 percent from deep along with 50 percent from inside the arc.

However, offensively, the Rams have been elite. Colorado State is shooting an effective field goal percentage of 55.8 percent while only turning the ball over 14.6 percent of the time. Like Wyoming, offensive rebounds will be hard to come by, but the Rams are still shooting 36.4 percent from deep and 56.5 percent from inside the arc.

Plus, when Colorado State gets to the line, the Rams are nearly automatic, hitting 78.8 percent of foul shots.

Still, Wyoming has held opponents to just 29.4 percent from deep and 49.3 percent from inside, while limiting foul shots and dominating the defensive glass.

The first game went to overtime between these two teams. You'd like to think that this game will be close too. So I'll take Wyoming +6 here.
