Saturday's College Basketball Best Bet: Georgia With the Nooner

Everybody loves a nooner. Everybody. There are no exceptions. Especially on a Saturday because they let you know what type of day it's going to be. Is it going to be a day of fighting the books for your cash? Or is it going to be one where you just go on a run that people will talk about in the lobby of the Gambling Hall of Fame for years to come? No one really knows until the nooner starts. That's the beauty and allure of a nooner. Nobody knows what's going to happen. Lucky for us, I found the perfect nooner. If we were rating this thing on a scale from one to 10, it would be a perfect 10. It has everything we're looking for in a nooner in the sense that we have no idea what's going to happen. That's hard to beat.

Georgia Team Total Over 31.5 *First Half @+100 (Bet $100 to win $100)

Odds available at FanDuel at time of publishing

This one is at FanDuel because DraftKings took forever to post first half team totals. They're up now but I was right to go to FanDuel because they have the better price. DraftKings isn't horrible at 31.5 for -110 but obviously even money is the better move. That's just math.

Nobody is saying the Georgia Bulldogs are good here but the home underdog in a spot like this is worth a look. First off, the Bulldogs play fast which is what I want to see. As a fan, up and down the court is the what I want to see. None of this hang out in the halfcourt offense stuff. That's not fun. Georgia plays at the 83rd fastest pace in the country which is good enough for me.

I know the haters are going to say that the Gators play slow but so do the Texas A&M Aggies. The Bulldogs just had a game with them end at 48-37 in the first half. What I like even more about that is the fact that Texas A&M has the 63rd best defense in the country (according to KenPom). The Florida Gators have the 64th best and operate at a similar pace.

This game is in Athens where the Bulldogs have come out firing recently. Last Saturday afternoon, they hung 38 on Ole Miss in the first half. They did the same thing against South Carolina the home game before that. In fact, they've only failed to score at least 32 points once in the first half of home games in February. They've played four and the time they didn't they hit 30 against Auburn. In one game they dropped 47 against Arkansas. These Bulldogs have a ceiling.

Florida is one of the better defensive teams in the SEC so there is that. Still, they can be had by teams that are shooting well and Georgia is 20th best in the country in effective field goal percentage over the last three games. I think they can come out and score early in this one before the Gators can figure a way to slow them down.
