Even though the Big East has been resolved already with Providence winning the title and Vilanova finishing second there is still a battle. Tonight that battle is for seeding of third place in the Big East as UConn travels to Omaha, Nebraska to take on Creighton.
Yes, we are both wondering how a Nebraska school is in the Big East but location doesn't matter anymore, money does. This game will be on FS1 for your viewing pleasure and we will see if missing Ryan Nembhard will continue to affect a Creighton team that only went six deep all year and is now missing their assist leader and just got buried by Providence.

Creighton played UConn earlier this year and beat them in one of Uconn's worst games of the year 59-55 as a double-digit underdog. Personally, I'm not a fan of this team as they are really not good at anything and feel the coach should be in the running for Coach of the Year because this team shouldn't be where they are.
They rank 220th in points scored, 314th in 3-point shooting which is usually their strong suit and their free throw shooting is middle of the pack. So offensively they stink so maybe it's the defense that does it for them you may be wondering? The answer is clearly, no. They are a middle of the pack defense and they are awful in defensive boards as they are 229th giving up 32 a game.
What Creighton has going for them is they have beaten UConn four times in a row but the four wins have all been nail biters with an overtime winner by a bucket and a three and four point win. But, missing your point guard when UConn's best player is their point guard in RJ Cole is going to hurt when in their first game without Nembhard they had a total of four assists and lost by 21. This team is not the same without him as guys don't know their roles and bench guys played more than they had all year.

UConn is in third place and they clearly don't want to drop to fourth place as they want to avoid Providence as long as they can and they just beat Nova. We mentioned how bad Creighton is at defensive boards. UConn is the opposite as that is their strength.
They are the best in the Big East and eighth in the country and they are one of the best free throw shooting teams if this game comes down to that. Without a point guard for Creighton, we feel RJ Cole will dominate this game and control it. Uconn, a team that averages almost 77 a game one of the best in the country will not score 22 points below their average tonight. Coach Hurley went off on his team for how they let Georgetown back in the game and I am sure he will not rest them tonight and make sure they finish off Creighton.
Uconn will get their sixth win in a row, RJ Cole will go off, UConn will not shoot 30% again and more importantly, Coach Hurley and UConn will finally beat Creighton and make up for the quadruple revenge they have now. We feel -4 is a very fair number for this game and expect UConn to win by 8-11 points tonight. Lay the 4, watch the game and let's see if a Husky can tear apart a Blue Jay tonight finally.
