We go to the Big 10 tonight as the regular season is about to end and we have two teams who have not impressed anyone lately battling to make sure they get into the tournament as both teams don't deserve a ticket to the dance. We are talking about the Buckeyes of Ohio State and the Spartans of Michigan State. Both have been horrible lately and tonight on ESPN we will see which one is worse or best of the worst so to speak.

The real question is what is wrong with both of their defenses. Michigan State has given up 87, 86, and 79 in their last three losses. In their last three wins, they gave 65, 61, 63. I think that speaks for itself.
The three losses were to good offensive teams, especially Iowa and Illinois but still, no excuse for an Izzo-coached team to be giving up that many points. Michigan St is a middle of the road team offensively and defensively the only thing they are top 20 in is 3-point shooting and in the last two games they shot 31% and lost and 45% and won.
The three before that 31, 38, 31 which were all losses. They have one guy who scores double-digits this year in Gabe Brown and he is barely over 11 points a game. This team is not a good offensive team and doesn't have a leader like the old Spartans teams did.

Ohio St does have Michigan to end the year and we all know that it's not just football these teams always look forward to each other so Ohio St may be a little less focused on the awful Spartans tonight.
Ohio State doesn't have the most depth and they are missing Zed Key and probably Kyle Young too who left that last game with an illness. Ohio St just like Michigan St has nothing good on either side of the ball but they do shoot a good percentage which keeps them in the game. They have five guys shooting over 47% from the field (two of them may be out though) and they are led by one of the best players in the country in EJ Liddell.
This team goes where EJ takes them and 10-27 and 2-12 from the 3 point line are not numbers that win you games which is why they haven't recently. This team did actually play defense just last month because giving up 78 to Nebraska and 75 to Maryland is embarrassing and the coaches have been preaching defense all week. This team had a four game stretch in February where they gave up 67, 66, 57, and 45. We fully expect both teams who are not scary on offense to play a defensive game tonight as both teams need a W and a close defensive game is what we see tonight.
We have some numbers that say this game will go under especially for Ohio State, and they have been a good under when favored but the fact they are missing two starters and Michigan State has their own injuries. Both teams need a win, look for the defenses to step up late. Both coaches will not be happy if either team gets in the 80's tonight. We see a game where first to 70 wins, at most as this game should be played in the high 60's tonight. Defenses step up, the under wins and everyone is happy. We currently see the total at 139 at DraftKings at even money. Look for about 133-135 tonight in a tight battle and that is under 139 so enjoy a Big 10 defensive battle tonight and make some money.
