They have been one of the better teams in the conference, especially on offense as they are ranked in the top 5 in the big sky in most major offensive categories including 2nd in adjusted offensive efficiency, 2nd in offensive effective field goal percentage, and 3rd in 3-point percentage. Tonight, they get a very favorable matchup against an Idaho St team who has been dreadful in all facets of the game this season.

Sam Houston St has been a very solid team out of the WAC this year and they have been very good at home posting a 10-2 record on their home court. They will face a Tarleton St team who is 6-2 against their last 8 teams but those 6 wins have come against the bottom feeders of the conference in UT-RGV, Chicago St, and Lamar (0 D1 Wins). Against all other competition, Tarleton is 0-6 in their last 6 games and has struggled mightily against the better teams in the conference.

Sam Houston St will also have the best player on the court in this matchup with Savion Flagg, a Texas AM transfer who is averaging 19/8/3 and is a matchup nightmare for defenses. Flagg is 6'7 so he has the ability to bully smaller guards and drive past bigs. I think he will be the difference-maker for Sam Houston St tonight as I think they get off to a fast start at home.
