Akron has been a very solid team out of the MAC this year as they have some solid wins including a very impressive double-digit win on the road vs Ohio, but my attention is on Central Michigan this evening. Central Michigan has had a really bad season, but they have been playing well lately and have been covering large spreads. Akron has also been a fascinating team in the sense that they have not been doing well at home, particularly in the first half of their home games. Akron is 0-10 ATS in the 1H of their last 10 home games. I don't like to bet based on trends but that is a very strong trend.

Central Michigan also played them very tough in their first matchup and actually outscored them in the second half of that game to cover the full game spread across all numbers. I think Central Michigan comes out strong in the first half tonight and 8 points seems like way too many for a team in Akron, who has struggled to cover any spread at home, let alone 8 points in a half. With that being said, I am rolling with Central Michigan 1H +8 at -110 for one of my most confident college basketball picks of the night.

Belmont Vs Morehead St
Belmont is a perennial powerhouse in the Ohio Valley Conference this year, but they have been overshadowed by the incredible season of Murray St. Belmont lost to Murray St twice and also failed to cover the spread against Morehead St twice, so Belmont has struggled against the top half of the league. With that being said, I think this is the perfect combination of a get-right spot and revenge spot for Belmont against a Morehead St team who really struggles to score at times.

Belmont is one of the more efficient teams in the country on offense and I don't see them struggling for a third consecutive game here against Morehead St. Belmont was nearly 10-point favorites in their last matchup vs Morehead St and just squeaked by with a 1-point victory in a low scoring affair. Belmont had a fairly sizable second-half comeback in that game and I think they parlay that strong 2nd half performance into a strong 1H performance tonight, so I am rolling with Belmont 1H -2 at -118 for one of my most confident college basketball picks of the night.
