South Dakota State has been one of my favorite teams to bet on over the past few years. They are typically one of the best mid-major teams in the country and it is largely due to their highly proficient offense. They are currently ranked NUMBER 1 in the country in offensive effective field goal percentage, 1st 3-point percentage, 8th in 2-point percentage, 11th in adjusted offensive efficiency, and 29th in lowest offensive turnover percentage. They ran the table in the summit league and come into this game with a 20-0 record in conference play and even more impressively, only 5 of those games were within single digits. They are a juggernaut in the Summit League, and I think they’ll have another distinct advantage tonight.
North Dakota St is a solid team with height and athleticism at every position, but NDSU struggles to force turnovers on defense. They are currently 2nd to last (357th) in the country in defensive turnover percentage which I think will be a problem for them tonight. If you can’t force South Dakota State into making turnovers, then it will be very difficult for NDSU to stay in this game. Overall, NDSU is 144th in the nation in adjusted defensive efficiency so they are a middle of the pack team, but South Dakota St was still able to score 90 and 80 points in their first 2 meetings against the Bison this season.

North Dakota St has probably played South Dakota St tougher than any summit league team this season and they come into this game off an impressive double-digit win over Oral Roberts, but I just don’t think North Dakota St has the firepower to keep up. They are ranked 173rd in adjusted offensive efficiency, 125th in 2-point percentage, and 103rd in effective field goal percentage. NDSU is solid, but I really like this number for South Dakota State and think they will get off to a fast start here tonight. With that being said, I am rolling with South Dakota St 1H -2.5 at -120 for one of my most confident college basketball plays of the night.

This game is the opening round of the Big West tournament meaning both of these teams have been bottom feeders this season, but UC Davis hasn't been as bad as people may think. UC Davis had one of the more embarrassing losses in college basketball history this season when they lost to Academy of Art by 19 points in a blowout. That game tends to stick in people's minds when they think of UC Davis this season but since then, they have played very well and played tough against some of the top teams in the conference. They nearly defeated Long Beach St and Cal State Fullerton in their last 2 games and now they are in a revenge spot vs Cal Poly who is dead last in the Big West.
Cal Poly has been dreadful on offense this season as they are currently ranked 332nd in overall adjusted offensive efficiency, 326th in offensive effective field goal percentage, 350th highest offensive turnover percentage, 3333rd in 3-point percentage, and 283rd in 2-point percentage so it is safe to say that they struggle to score the basketball. UC Davis isn't a juggernaut on offense, but UC Davis has been really solid defensively this season. UC Davis is currently ranked 53rd in defensive effective field goal percentage and 29th in defensive 2-point percentage.

I think UC Davis will make it really hard for this Cal Poly team to score and expect a much better effort from this time around. Cal Poly has struggled in the 1H of many of their conference games this season and has then come back in the 2H so tonight I am rolling with UC Davis 1H -2.5 at -110 for one of my most confident picks college basketball picks of the night.
