Georgetown vs Seton Hall Prediction

It seems like in every game Georgetown is hanging around in the first half and then implodes in the second half.

The Hoyas are shooting a 46.5 percent effective field goal percentage while scoring 43.7 percent from inside the arc. That number is so bad, especially being coached from one of the best all-time bigs in the NBA in Patrick Ewing. Anyway, from deep, Georgetown has hit 34.3 percent from the field. The three point-ball is sometimes the only thing that can keep the Hoyas in games.

Georgetown is earning 31.7 percent offensive rebounds but just isn't getting to the line at a high enough rate to make a difference. This, while also turning the ball over 18.6 percent of the time.

Meanwhile, Seton Hall’s defense has been close to elite and is one of the best in the Big East. Opponents are shooting just a 45.8% effective field goal percentage with teams hitting just 31 percent from three and 45.5 percent from inside.

Seton Hall hasn't been incredibly effective on the defensive glass, but still is just allowing 27.7 percent offensive rebounds per game this season. That's a good enough rate, especially against Georgetown.

Also, the Pirates aren't going to dominate offensively. Consistency has been a problem with Seton Hall hitting just 33.2 percent from three and 46.8 percent from inside the arc.

However, Seton Hall is earning 33.1 percent of offensive rebounds and is very long and athletic down low this season. The Pirates are also just more disciplined and should have fewer turnovers in this game.

The reality is, Georgetown has also been awful defensively and in the process, makes most teams look like NCAA Tournament contenders.

Against Georgetown, teams are shooting 37 percent from three and 52.7 percent from inside the arc. The Hoyas have also given up 30 percent of offensive rebounds this season. It might not happen in the first half, but eventually, Seton Hall will pull away.
