College Basketball Best Bets for Thursday: Can Oregon Sneak out a Win?

I am back with my two best college basketball bets today. This slate is so good that I had to throw two bets into one article! This is the best time of the year by far if your love to gamble; you have action from the minute you wake up until you go to bed, so let’s get into the action for tonight!

Oregon vs Colorado Prediction

The first play I am looking at will concern a battle between the Oregon Ducks and the Colorado Buffalos. These two teams have had somewhat disappointing years as it appears they would have to win their conference to punch a ticket to the big dance.

This is an Oregon team who entered the season ranked and expected to compete for a PAC 12 title. They have been led by transfers Jacob Young and Quincey Guirer, along with guard Will Richardson. This is still a very talented Oregon team. They have just been extremely inconsistent. The Ducks pulled upsets on the road over the two best teams in the PAC 12, beating USC and UCLA.

The Ducks actually beat UCLA two times during the regular season. Their puzzling losses have left them on the outside looking in, however, for the time being. Colorado pieces together a quiet 20-10 season led by junior guard Jabari Walker. Walker has been the best player for Colorado this season, and he will need to step up in a big way if they want to pull off the win tonight.

The pick I am looking to go with will be the Oregon Ducks on the moneyline here. This game is currently a pick ‘em, but I think the Ducks should be getting 2-3 points here. I see some really good matchups in this game for the Ducks, especially in the paint. I think their guards will have their way of getting into driving lanes and creating easy shots throughout the night. I still believe in this Oregon Ducks roster that they can make some noise here in the tourney. I know things didn’t go their way during the regular season, but this is a new time of year. Give me the Ducks to sneak the win out.

Virginia Tech vs Notre Dame Prediction

The second play I am going with will concern a pair of ACC rivals as the Virginia Tech Hokies will battle it out with the Irish of Notre Dame. Notre Dame has had one of the most surprising seasons of any team in college basketball. The Irish are firmly in March madness at this point, and they are currently the number two seed in the ACC.

Virginia Tech came into this season poised to be a post-season team, but they are firmly on the bubble here as they enter the acc tournament. The Hokies probably feel lucky just to be in this game as they were able to win last night's game on a buzzer-beater to knock off the Clemson Tigers.

Bet $5, Win $200 on Either Virginia Tech OR Notre Dame to Win

The play I am turning to tonight will be Virginia Tech on the short moneyline. The line is telling us the tale here as Virginia Tech is actually the favorite in this game tonight! I think they are able to impose their will on the defensive end and get a big win tonight. Notre dame may play this game a bit more relaxed due to the fact they know they are in the tournament. Virginia tech has to play this game like it’s a win or go home, and I expect that to show up and be a factor tonight. I will trust the line here and the more desperate team. Let’s keep things rolling tonight and grab us another sweep!
