College Basketball Prop Pick for Thursday: Joseph Girard Cans Threes
One week from today, we will be experiencing the first "real" day of the NCAA Tournament. Games will start at noon and literally, go on all day. We're talking 16 games next Thursday. That's a lot of gambling people. While it's nothing to be afraid of, it's definitely something you want to be prepared for. I can't think of a smarter way to prepare than to spend the entirety of this Thursday betting on college hoops. It's a great way to get every loose end you may have tied up. Which snacks, which beers, what place is best on the couch, can you even physically sit on a couch for 12 hours and watch basketball (you can)? These are the tough questions you can have answered if you just go through a dry run today. I'm starting with Syracuse and Duke at noon on ESPN.

Joseph Girard Over 2.5 Made Threes (+135) (Bet $100 to Win $135)
*Odds Available at DraftKings at Time of Publishing*
This one is hanging proudly at DraftKings right now. If you're a FanDuel person, it's hanging there too so have at it. If you're anywhere else, you may have to wait for closer to tip off because I don't see a number. I wish more books would be into college hoops player props but it looks like they just aren't. Sad.

Syracuse has Duke today and that should mean the end of the road for the Orange. Buddy Boeheim punched some kid from Florida State yesterday so he's not going to suit up for Syracuse. Truth be told, I don't even think it would have mattered. Duke has beaten Syracuse by 20+ both times they played them this season. This matchup doesn't look good for the Orange.
Still, they have to play the game, and even if the Orange get waxed today, this kid Girard should bang out at least three threes. The beauty is, even if Syracuse wins, this Girard kid should bang out at least three threes. That's what I call a win/win situation. It's the kind of thing you want to start a long day of gambling with.
Here's the deal, Boeheim is the only other kid besides Girard on Syracuse that took at least 200 threes this season. He's out. You can't punch people in basketball. It's just not allowed. That leaves Girard (and Cole Swider) as the three-point alpha. The kid hit 40.5% on the season so he knows what time it is. He's taken at least nine attempts from downtown in his last two games for Christ's sake.
Here's what's going to happen. Once the Blue Devils start smashing Syracuse the Orange will go to the chuck and duck. That train is never late. In each game against the Blue Devils, this season Girard attempted at least eight threes. I bet he takes at least 10 today. If you're familiar with math, you'll notice that a kid that shoots 40+% from three-land that takes at least 10 threes should end up with at least four makes. That's just how math works. This one feels a little too easy.
