Saint Louis vs Davidson Prediction: Davidson Will Score

I've probably got another day in the college hoops world before I jump back into the NBA. The season is winding down and we don't have a lot time left with these kids. So if they're playing, we should be betting on them. It's the least we can do to show our appreciation. Plus, college hoops is a fun sport to bet. From an entertainment standpoint, it's insane. Literally no one on the planet knows what will happen.

My advice is to find a game that's on television and get down on it. The one I'm looking at to kick the day off is Saint Louis and Davidson at 1:00 pm ET on CBS. Unfortunately, my kid has a playoff basketball game at the same time so the first half is out. But that does open up what I like to call "full game potential". As soon as her game ends, I jump on my phone and BAM, I'm in the fire. It's a rarely used strategy but when done properly, it's deadly.

Davidson Team Total Over 69.5 (-115) (Bet $115 to win $100)

This is hanging at DraftKings right now. We should thank that book at this point because they have been so far ahead of the others it's not even funny. At least in college hoops. The people want action and they're providing lines for us to bet before anyone else. Hats off to those guys.

I don't do a lot of full game team totals in college hoops but the way my schedule breaks today makes this a smart one. I'm going to walk off a court and just enter a second half fray (hopefully). But after watching this Davidson team yesterday, they may have already covered this number by 2:00 pm ET today.

The thing about Davidson is all of those kids can score. They have four of them that average double digits in points. Watching them demolish Fordham yesterday was eye opening. They could actually make noise in the Big Dance this year. But it's not the depth I think we can take advantage of here. It's the three-ball.

As a guy who hangs out by the three-point line in every pick-up game he's played over the last 20 years, I know a wet jumper when I see one. These Davidson kids stroke. There's like four of them that drain from anywhere and the fifth one (Mennenga) has what I would call a "moist" jumper. He's almost wet.

The reason Saint Louis doesn't give up many points is because they shut down the three-ball. That's the most overrated stat in the college hoops world. It's crazy when teams hang their hat on it. I liken it to a cornerback going wild after a quarterback overthrows a receiver. Cornerback had nothing to do with it.

The Billikens "held" opponents to 31.2% from downtown this season. The issue is, Davidson can actually hit threes. They are legit top 10 in the country in the metric. The Wildcats hit 58% against them less than a month ago en route to a 79-point outburst. We just need them to drain a few today. On top of that, being that this is a do or die situation, we may see Saint Louis foul late in the game even when it's obvious they can't catch up. I think Davidson scores at least 70 points today.
