College basketball returns today, and this is one of my favorite days of the season! It is selection Sunday which means it is the last day before MarchMadness. March Madness has always been my favorite time of the year because literally anything can and will happen. We will have to see how the bracket comes out tonight. One team that knows they will be in the bracket and a high seed at that is the Houston Cougars.

Houston vs. Memphis AAC Championship Final Prediction

Houston has been one of the top teams in college basketball all season long despite multiple injuries to key players, including guard Marcus Sasser. They have had players step up big time in Sasser's absence, most notably big man Fabian White Jr who has been outstanding for the Cougs. This is a typical Houston team. They played very hard on defense, create turnovers and beat you by playing their brand of basketball.

They will be facing off with a Memphis Tigers team who is looking to punch their first ticket to March Madness in the Penny Hardaway era. Penny has been a master of recruiting since his arrival at Memphis, but he has not been able to put it all together on the court. This is a team loaded with talent, and they are feeling good about their current play. The best player on this team has been big man and five-star recruit Jalen Duren. Duren, a native of Sharon Hill, PA, has been great on both sides of the ball and appears to be one of the best young big men in the game. Memphis will need Duren to step up in a big way today if they want to capture a conference title and knock off Houston for the third time this season.

The play I will be turning to today will be to back the Houston Cougars. I love this spot for a few reasons. The first is Memphis is a public darling right now. I think people are overthinking this a bit due to the hot play of the Tigers as of late. Houston is still the much better team on both sides of the ball, and they are the more experienced team who should be able to handle this environment better. I do not think Memphis will be able to handle this environment tonight and that the Houston defense will be too much for them to handle.

I really like the way Houston is playing heading into this game tonight, and I feel as if they will continue their hot run. This is one of the most dangerous teams in the tournament, and no one wants to see the Houston Cougars at the moment. I expect a big game from Fabian White Jr, who has been lights out this entire season for the Cougs. Houston will get things done for us today! Let’s stay hot and keep things rolling!
