We will be getting a great matchup for this 8 vs. 9 game in this region. The Seton Hall Pirates of the Big East will meet up and battle it out with the TCU Horned Frogs. TCU has been a huge surprise this year to many, and their stellar play throughout the season landed them a bid in the big dance.

TCU head coach Jamie Dixon has done a phenomenal job for this team this year. Their star has been guard Mike Miles. Miles, a sophomore from Texas, has been the go-to guy for this TCU bunch. He is scoring 15 points per game to lead the team. 15 points per game in a conference as good as the Big 12 is a solid accomplishment.

Junior guard Damion Baugh has also really stepped up for TCU throughout the season, scoring nearly 11 points per game. Seton Hall comes into this one playing to the tune of a 21-10 record. They have been up and down all season long, but when they are clicking, they are one of the toughest teams to beat in the nation. They are coming off a tough loss to UConn in the conference tournament in a game where they just did not shoot the basketball well.

The leader of this team has been guard Jared Rhoden. Rhoden, who averaged nearly 16 points per game, showed he could be one of the best scoring guards in the nation. This is a well-balanced attack for the Pirates. Kadary Richmond and Myles Cale are great scoring options for the Pirates, and they will have to really step up in this first-round game if the Pirates want to pull off this win. This should be one of the more competitive first-round games. 

But, I will be backing the Seton Hall Pirates here at -1.

I love this TCU team, but you have to think from a match-up standpoint that Seton Hall matches up much better across the board. They will have the best player on the court in guard Jared Rhoden, but I see an advantage in this game in the paint for the Pirates.

Alexis Yetna will be an x-factor for the Pirates and make things difficult on the Horned Frogs in the paint. This is a much more athletic team who should be able to use their athleticism on both sides of the ball to sneak by TCU. Seton Hall should be able to control the tempo here and shoot their way past the Horned Frogs. It will be essential for the Pirates to control the pace here because if they play into the pace TCU wants, then it could be an issue. TCU is a talented defensive team that wants to try and muck the game up and win a low-scoring game. I have faith that Seton Hall will not get into that slow style of play and get us the win!
