March Madness 2022: Predictions for Every 10 vs. 7 Game

This article will breakdown each of the seven vs. ten matchups. These games are typically very close, and a lot of people will like to use the ten seed as their upset picks. This season we get four of those games, and I am excited to get into all of these.

San Francisco vs Murray State

The first one will be a battle between the Dons of San Francisco and Murray State. These teams are both non-power conference schools that are very dangerous teams. Murray State had one of their best seasons in program history and will be dancing for the first time since Ja Morant was a part of the team.

This team, however, still has multiple plays who’s played with Ja Morant. This is a veteran ball club that is not used to losing a lot of games. Murray State only lost two games all season, sporting a record of 30-2. San Francisco comes into this one playing to the tune of a 24-9 record but had their tougher schedule.

I will be backing San Francisco in this spot as the dog. I think this game is so close that taking the + money team is the better bet. I expect this one to come down to the wire, but the best player on the court will be wearing a San Francisco uniform. Senior guard Jamaree Bouyea had a monster season and will be a tough matchup for Murray State in this game. I will be backing the short dog here on Thursday night!

Ohio State vs Loyola Chicago

The second seven vs. ten-game will concern Loyola Chicago and Ohio State. Yes, Sister Jean will be able to watch Loyola Chicago in another March madness game, and a lot of people love them in this spot. They ended the season strong winning their conference championship and ended the season with a 25-7 record.

The big gun for them is senior guard and Chicago native Lucas Williamson. Williamson will be the guy who has to step up big time if they want to knock off the Buckeyes. The Buckeyes had an up and down season, seeing themselves ranked for the majority of the year but slipped up late, including a loss in the conference tournament to Penn State.

The combination of Ej Liddel and Zede Key is as good as any frontcourt in the nation when they are clicking. The Buckeyes also have very good guard play in Malaki Branham, who is a star in the making. I love the Buckeyes here due to the public reaction on Loyola Chicago. This is not as good of a Loyola team as we have seen in years past, and I expect them to have no answer for Liddell or Key. They should make it difficult all night in the paint, and I actually think they blow them out in this game.

Miami vs USC

The next Battle will be between two teams who are typically paired with football. The Hurricanes of Miami and the Trojans of USC. These two programs the last few seasons have actually been more of basketball schools rather than football, funny enough. These are two great coaches in Andy Enfield and Jim Larranaga, and their teams will be well prepared for this game.

The star for USC comes in the form of Isaiah Mobley, the older brother of current rookie of the year favorite Evan Mobley. Miami has a well-balanced attack led by senior Texas native Kameron Mcgusty. I will be backing the Canes here due to the inability of USC to score and sometimes shoot the basketball. This is a team that goes on some serious droughts, and I think Miami can control place and run up the score in this game. I do not see USC playing with enough pace here to get the job done. I will again be backing the dog and taking the Canes!

Davidson vs Michigan State

The final matchup will be a battle between the Atlantic 10s Davidson Wildcats and the Michigan State Spartans, who make way of the Big 10. This will be a great game with two very good veteran coaches leading the way. I love the Spartans in this one due to their ability to control the paint. I think Davidson will struggle to score the basketball in this game while Michigan State will have things flowing on the offensive end. I love the line we are getting here, so I will be taking advantage.
