March Madness Friday Picks: UAB vs Houston, Davidson vs Michigan State, and More

We're home-free now people. By the time these games tip, we'll be so far gone it won't even matter. Our brains will be mush after watching 24 hours of basketball in just 36 hours. That's just how brains work. Still, it will all be worth it when we can say that we've bet every game of the tournament so far. That's an incredible accomplishment and we should all be proud of ourselves. Hats off to us. But first thing is first, we actually have to bet these games. They don't bet themselves. Lucky for us, I went through every matchup and crunched every number. The results of all that crunching is just majestic. I've never seen anything better. Ever.

I just want this to happen. I want to believe it can happen. This UAB team is very scrappy. Like incredibly scrappy. They haven't really played anyone but they did hang with West Virginia. That Mountaineer team could be considered bullies just like this Houston team so that's good. Although Houston is night and day better. Still we need something to believe in and UAB is that something. I have no stats to back this up except for the fact that UAB can score and they play fast. I think they keep it within eight.

9:40pm ET - Davidson/Michigan State Over 143 (+105) (Bet $100 to Win $105)

I was going to take Davidson's team total over 73.5 +156 at FanDuel but thought better of it at the last second. I still think that will happen but I feel like this is the better way to go about things. First off, we get to go nuts when both teams score which is key for any Friday night bet. People at bars love when the people next to them go crazy every time there is a score in a basketball game. On top of that, I could see Davidson landing on 73 or something like that. The key here is that Michigan State is getting credit for being good against the three. They didn't play Davidson who can make it rain. Like four of those kids can. It's crazy. I think these teams trade buckets all night.

9:50pm ET - Colgate Team Total Over 68.5 (+142) (Bet $100 to Win $142)

You could legit get rich off of fading teams that "defend the three" well this time of the year. Here's a hint: they don't really defend the three well. They just play teams that can't shoot. Defending the three-point line is very hard when the other team can shoot. One thing that these Colgate kids can do is shoot. Only one team in the NCAA shoots the three better than the Raiders. Wisconsin will likely win this game but I have a hard time believing they will keep Colgate under 69 in the process. This looks like an undercover over but if it does go over, it will be because Colgate scored more than 69 points.

9:57pm ET - Mike Miles Jr. Over 13.5 Points (-110) (Bet $110 to Win $100)

Being the last game of the night, we can't do an under. If you can't do player props, that's a hint for you. Even though I don't think this game will see a ton of points, I still think this kid scores at least 14. The kid is nice and he takes a ton of shots. He legit took 114 more shots than anyone else on the team and he's only a sophomore. Miles Jr has seen some insane defense in the Big 12 so I don't think Seton Hall can do anything about him. If he takes 15+ shots Friday night, he'll probably go over 13.5 points.
