The Badgers of Wisconsin will be battling the University of Colgate on firsts night in what should be a great basketball game! The Badgers have become a consistent team in the big dance the last decade, and a lot of that is due to the culture that this team plays with. They are a hard-nosed team that plays defense with great intensity. The poster child for Wisconsin basketball comes in the form of senior guard Brad Davidson. Davidson is not the most talented player on the court but plays with a ton of heart and spirit. He helped lead Wisconsin to a Big Ten regular-season championship. The true star player of this team is Johnny Davis. Davis, who should have a bright future at the next level in the NBA, has been outstanding all year, being one of the best players in the nation.

Colgate had a great year, and they come into this one representing the Patriot League! Colgate enters play representing a record of 23-11, and they have not lost a game since January 28th when they fell to Boston University. This is a solid bunch who will look to pull off the big upset over Wisconsin tonight. The best player for Colgate this season has been senior Nelly Cummings. Cummings enters play averaging north of 14 points per game and will need to step up tonight if Colgate wants to pull off the win.

The play I am turning to tonight will be to back the Badgers on the first-half spread. I think Colgate is a good team, but I’ll keep it there. They played in one of the worse conferences in all of the nation and still had double dog hit losses. That shows me that this team is not that deep and will struggle against a team as talented as the Badgers. I expect Wisconsin to really step things up on the defensive end and flex their muscles in the paint. Colgate will have no answer for Johnny Davis, who I think should explode tonight. The size could also be a factor in this game as I think Wisconsin controls the glass and the paint. Colgate is a very trendy dog which I hate, so I’m happy to fade the trendy dog in this spot tonight!
