Texas vs. Purdue Prediction: Which Team Will Move on to the Sweet 16?
The Purdue Boilermakers meet up with the Longhorns of Texas in a game that decides who keeps dancing. These two blue bloods have enjoyed successful regular seasons and opened the Round of 64 with blowout wins. Purdue beat up on Yale while Texas ended up blowing out Virginia Tech thanks to a strong second half. The stage is now set for what should be a great game tonight between two teams good enough to win a National Championship.
Texas vs. Purdue Prediction
Purdue represents possibly the best big man combination in the country with Trevion Williams and Zack Edy. Edy has really taken a step in the right direction this season and is a matchup nightmare for opposing coaches. Purdue’s most NBA-ready player comes in the form of guard Jaden Ivey who is slated to be a lottery pick in the upcoming draft. This kid is one of the fastest players in all of college basketball. Suppose you haven't watched him. Be ready to watch him tonight. Texas had a very slow start to the season, due to a lot of transfers on this roaster and a new head coach. Chris Beard came over from Texas Tech and knew his team might take some time to mesh. The most notable transfer for the Longhorns was guard Marcus Carr who was one of the best players in the nation when he was at Minnesota. Carr has been playing great basketball as of late, and the Longhorns will need more of that if they want to pull off the upset tonight.

The play I am turning to is going to be Texas with the points.
I love this spot. One, it is a significant public fade spot, and two, I have the Longhorns going to the Final Four. When I saw this line, I was immediately encouraged because Purdue is the better basketball team, but this line is saying Texas. The one area where Texas holds an advantage is on the defensive end. This is a top-tier defense, and they should be able to limit this Purdue attack. I am a big fan of Chris Beard, and I believe he and his staff will have a good game plan on the defensive end.
I mentioned Marcus Carr earlier. He is going to have to be the guy to really step up in this game. Carr has been much more aggressive as of late, and that has resulted in more wins for Texas. I think the game plan will be to show the Purdue big men a lot of different looks and double teams. I love the line we are getting here tonight. Let’s stay hot and cash in on another play!
