Wisconsin vs. Iowa State player prop pick and prediction for their Second Round game of the NCAA Tournament. Wisconsin's Johnny Davis has been one of the best players in the country. On Sunday, we're turning to him for our player prop parlay.
ANALYSIS

Wisconsin vs. Iowa State Player Prop: Bank on Johnny Davis in this Wisconsin Prop Parlay

Johnny Davis has been outstanding for the Wisconsin Badgers this season. The sophomore guard's impressive campaign even landed him Big 10 Player of the Year honors. His high-level play is also catching the eyes of NBA scouts, as Davis projects to be a lottery pick and even seems likely to be selected in the top 10 in June's NBA Draft. He's certainly a prospect to watch out for, and what better way to get him on your radar than a Same Game Parlay?

2-Leg Wisconsin Same Game Parlay (+105) (Bet $100 to win $105)

*Odds Available at DraftKings at Time of Publishing*

  • Leg 1: Johnny Davis 1+ Assists
  • Leg 2: Johnny Davis 1+ Threes Made

The assist for Johnny Davis is the easy part. It's almost like a free leg. He has at least one assist in 28 of his 30 games this season and in 26 of 27 games when seeing at least 30 minutes.

Wisco's star guard averaged 2.2 dimes per game in 34 minutes of action, and I'm expecting 36-38 minutes for him against Iowa State on Sunday. That 2.2 APG figure may not seem that high, but Davis is the lead ball-handler for the Badgers and has the ball in his hands a ton each and every game. He was one of the most dangerous scorers in college basketball this season, so expect Iowa State's top-tier defense to force him to spread the ball around.

Now, for the three-pointer. Johnny Davis knocked down a three in 20 of his 30 games this season. And, this hit rate improves to 71% when we look at games where Davis logged at least 35 minutes this season, hitting in 12 of 17 games.

The Big 10 POY went 4/10 from deep last game in 37 minutes of action. I'm expecting a similarly massive workload on Sunday evening with Wisconsin's season on the line. And, as long as he sees that much time on the court, I see Davis attempting 4 or 5 threes, as he averages 4.3 3PA when playing 35+ minutes this season.

You may be concerned about Iowa State's impressive three-point defense and overall defense this season. But, I'm not anticipating this to affect Davis much in this contest. He played six games against defenses that ranked in the top 40 this season, per KenPom's adjusted defensive efficiency metric. Davis knocked down a three-ball in 5 of these 6 games, averaging 1.3 makes on 3.7 attempts (numbers that are directly in line with his season-long marks).

Wisconsin's offense will rely on Johnny Davis against the Cyclones, just as the Badgers have all season. At plus-odds I love the value on the star guard to give us an assist and a three-ball in the Round of 32.
