Sunday Elite 8 Picks: Miami vs. Kansas and UNC vs. St. Peter's
This is it people. Our last Sunday of the NCAA Tournament. It feels sad when you think about it but honestly, we'll be fine. For one, there are still three more games after today. But most importantly, we had money on every single game. We did what we needed to do to get the most out of this tournament so we can watch today with our heads held high. Betting every single game of the NCAA Tournament is an accomplishment that can never be taken from any of us. You know it, I know it, the books know it. But first thing is first. In order to bet every game of the tournament, we'll have to bet today. Lucky for us, I found two bets that have absolutely no chance of losing. It's crazy that the books will even let us bet this but I already did so I know they will. Now we just wait to collect the cash.

A lot of people are calling this the Lock of the Century but I wouldn't go that far. Maybe Play of the Decade or even Bomb of the Millennium but not Lock of the Century. For starters, Lock of the Century is played out. We've seen and heard people use that term for years. It's just not right for a game like this because we've never seen a team quite like this year's version of the Miami Hurricanes. It's actually disrespectful.
People said that Iowa State's defense would shut down Miami. They really said that. I don't have to tell you that it didn't happen. The Hurricanes made that team look like the JV team of some random high school in Idaho. It was embarrassing. I'm not saying the Cyclones were good but they did have the fifth-best defense in the country according to KenPom. That's important to note.
Today they'll get a Kansas team that isn't great defensively but that's not even their biggest problem. I think they're in trouble because they haven't shown they can run away from anyone so far this tournament. Last game against Providence the Friars only had eight points with like six minutes in the half. Still, Kansas couldn't run away from them. Providence was actually leading that game late in the second half. The same type of game played out against Creighton.
I think Miami could win this game. They've beaten Duke and North Carolina this season so they know what time it is. But if you don't want to take a total instead of a side, you could climb the Miami Team Total ladder at FanDuel with Over 73.5 +146, Over 76.5 +220 and Over 79.5 +360. I've done dumber things with money.
March Madness: $1100 First Bet Insurance
Saint Peter's Peacocks Team Total Over 66.5 @ +125 (Bet $100 to win $125)

I have no idea what is going to happen in this game. You don't either. If you think North Carolina is going to kill these kids, keep in mind people that that would happen against Kentucky, Murray State and Purdue. Nothing about the Peacock's run makes any sense but here we are. This run they're on is insane but at the same time, there's a reason a 15-seed has never made it this far. They're still a 15 seed.
Now I'm not going to bet against these kids because I don't need that kind of evil in my life. If I learned anything from the movie The Other Guys, it's that you gotta let Peacocks fly. You just have to. Like Saint Peters, that movie was sneaky good and could catch anyone slipping at any time. If you ask me, it should have won an Oscar.
One way to get down on these Saint Peter's kids is to take their team total over. I did it against Purdue and it was glorious. The way I see it, even if these kids get throttled, we can still have money on them and we can still win. That's just living right there. The best part is, they are such big underdogs that their total isn't even that crazy. We're talking 67 points here people. They've done that every game of this tournament. And we're getting +125!
One thing about North Carolina is that they haven't been giving up a ton of points in this tournament. In fact, only Baylor has gone over this number against them. The thing is, every team they've played has at least hit 63. If you're familar with math, that's only two buckets off. With the pace the Tar Heels play (36th fastest in the country), anyone they play could pop off for 67. Why not the Saint Peter's kids?
