Kansas vs. Duke Prediction

The first week of college basketball has been great, but we have not seen a marquee matchup like this yet. These are two of the most storied college basketball programs in the history of the sport, and we get to kick back and watch them go at it tonight.

Kansas won their fourth National Championship last season when they were able to come back and beat North Carolina. The Jayhawks return some of those key players from the championship team, including forward Jalen Wilson. Kansas is yet again seen as one of the favorites to win the championship.

Duke turned in a great season and made it all the way to the Final Four. The Blue Devils were beaten by North Carolina to end their season and end the career of legendary head coach Mike Krzyzewski. Former Duke standout John Schier is the new man in charge, and he will have a lot of pressure on him to continue the team’s success. He has one of the best freshmen classes in the nation, headlined by Derick Lively II, Dariq Whitehead, and Mark Mitchell. The Blue Devils also return one of the best guards in the nation, Jeremy Roach. Roach was a huge part of Duke's success last season. The Blue Devils come into this game tonight as a short 1.5-point favorite.

I am backing the Jayhawks tonight. Early in the season, experience goes a long way. Kansas is the more experienced team and matches up very well with Duke tonight. They return two starters from their national championship team and added experienced transfer Kevin Mccular Jr. Kansas also has two freshmen that are just as good as Duke's freshmen in my eyes, Grady Dick and MJ Rice. Dick and Rice will be a big part of the Jayhawks' success this year. This should be a great game, sit back and enjoy it!
