The Kansas Jayhawks vs. the Kentucky Wildcats will duel things out from Lexington, Kentucky, on Saturday night for a prime-time affair. The Big 12 vs. SEC challenge will go down throughout college hoops today, but this appears to be the most anticipated game on the slate. The reason for that is the rich history that both programs have had. Kentucky and Kansas are college basketball royalty, and they have a lot of hardware to prove it. These two teams have a combined 12 National Championships. Eight of those belong to the Wildcats, while the Jayhawks have four, and their most recent championship was just a season ago.

The Jayhawks return multiple players from the National Championship team, including Jalen Wilson. Wilson has stepped up his game this season, taking a massive leap. He is averaging a team-high 21.4 points per game. If the Cats want to pull off the win tonight, they will need to limit the production of Wilson. Kansas also has a freshman superstar in the form of Grady Dick. Dick is second on the team scoring 14.9 points per game.

The Cats, meanwhile, are currently a bubble team to make the tournament, but they have been playing much better basketball as of late. Kentucky has won four games in a row, including a road win over Tennessee, who was ranked No. five at the time. Star big man Oscar Tshiebwe has led Kentucky. He is averaging a team-high 16.6 points per game while ripping down 13.9 rebounds per game. Despite being unranked, the Cats come into play as a 2.5-point favorite. 

This line screams Kentucky, and I will ride it all the way. The Cats have impressed me as of late, and I believe they have found their way. It is essential to remember from a talent standpoint this is a top -25 team. They just struggled early to find a flow, but now it appears they have found their way, and they are playing their best brand of basketball entering the month of February. I expect a great atmosphere in Lexington tonight, which will certainly play a role in this game. The Cats match up very well with the Jayhawks, and they should be able to control the paint tonight.
