We're at FanDuel again for this one since they are hanging a number that is way different than the rest of the market. We're talking way differently. Some of the sharpest books on the planet have this thing at -122, yet we're staring at -104 at FanDuel. That's crazy to me. Even the square books have -122 yet FanDuel is giving almost even money. Not quite, but still damn close. You just love to see it.

From a basketball standpoint, this bet makes a lot of sense as well. I see why the smart books are making their customers pay -122 for this banger. For starters, the Texas Tech offense just isn't good. We're talking like bad. (Bad meaning bad, not bad meaning good.)They are 77th in the country in adjusted offensive efficiency according to KenPom which likely won't cut it against a team like Iowa State. The last time they played these guys the Red Raiders only scored 50 points total. That's horrible.
The reason Texas Tech could only muster 50 points against the Iowa State Cyclones last time out was that the Cyclones play defense. Currently, they are ranked 10th in the nation in adjusted defensive efficiency. There are like 350+ teams in the country so that is damn good. On top of that, they play super slow. We're looking at a 64.1 adjusted tempo which is like 314th nationally. Basically, this is a formula for an absolute rock fight with the only chance of points being some kid getting hot. Sure that could happen, but at this price, we have to bet this.
