Kansas vs. Texas Prediction
Texas comes into this game playing to the tune of a 19-4 overall record and 8-2, which is good for the best record in the conference. Texas has had a lot go down this season, including the departure of their former head coach Chris Beard. Rodney Terry has done an outstanding job since taking over for Beard, and he has his team positioned to win a Big 12 championship. That is saying something because this is the best conference in college hoops. Texas has been led by a well-balanced attack this season on the offensive side of the ball, as four of their five starters average double digits.
The leader for the Horns has been Marcus Carr, who leads in scoring with 16.4 points per game. He also leads the team in assists with four. Texas was known for its defense coming into the year, but it has been its offense that has won them a lot of games. Texas has been solid on defense, allowing 67.6 points per game which ranks 106th in college basketball. That is not great for their standards, but it has been enough to lead them to be ranked fifth in the nation.
Kansas, meanwhile, is fresh off a national championship a season ago, but they are focused on getting back and winning another this year. The Jayhawks have been up and down as of late, representing an overall record of 18-5 and 6-4 in the conference. Kansas is fifth in the conference at the moment, but if they win this game tonight, they have a legitimate chance of winning the Big 12.
Jalen Wilson has been the leader of this team, averaging 21.1 points per game. Kansas is one of the best offensive teams in the nation when clicking, and they will look to turn in a big night against Texas tonight.
I am backing the Jayhawks in this spot. I think a lot of people will be scared off of Kansas due to their poor play as of late and the great play of Texas, but this is all about the spot. Kansas is a dominant home team, and they will look to get that sour taste out of their mouth from Saturday with a big-time win tonight. The Jayhawks match up very well with Texas, and I believe that they will be too much offensively for the Horns to keep pace with. Let’s stay hot and cash in tonight!
