Tonight, two of the best teams in the conference face off for round two of what should be an epic, high-scoring battle. Will the Horned Frogs defend their home court, or will the Longhorns spoil their night? Krabs makes his TCU vs. Texas prediction.
ANALYSIS

TCU vs. Texas Prediction: Backing the Horned Frogs

When fully healthy, TCU is not only one of the best teams in the Big 12, but one of the best in the nation. Mike Miles is back to full strength after missing a large chunk of the season. Miles is one of the best guards in the entire country. It is still unknown if big man Eddie Lampkin will be available tonight for the Horned Frogs.

To be completely honest, I don’t really think it matters. Texas is small, and Lampkin’s replacement Jakobe Coles has been playing out of his mind recently. Many are calling for Lampkin to be replaced permanently by Coles in the starting rotation. Maybe TCU is more dynamic offensively without big Eddie in the paint.

I found my spot for tonight, so let's get into my pick.

TCU vs. Texas Prediction

Even without Chris Beard, Texas has impressed many this year. Interim head coach Rodney Terry has done an impeccable job keeping this team together through all the off-the-court drama. Longhorn faithful want him back next season and have been extremely happy with Terry at the helm. Coach Terry also rocks the freshest pair of glasses I’ve ever seen, which must boost his confidence. Some think he should even win Big 12 Coach of the Year…

Back in January when these two elite offenses faced off, TCU got out to a significant early lead. They were up 42-29 at halftime on the road against a much better Longhorns team at that point in the season. Texas didn’t quit though. They came out hot in the second half and ended up winning thanks to a 50-point second half. TCU blew a huge lead and they should have won that game.

I’m sure the Frogs have this rematch circled on their calendars after their collapse in January.

TCU opened up as a 1.5-point favorite last night but has since been streamed up to -2.5 (-110). They are public, but the handle percentage outweighs the bet percentage.

The Frogs are bringing in 49% of bets but 73% of the handle on the moneyline and hold similar betting splits on the spread as well. Big bets are being placed on TCU tonight, and I’m one of them. This is a very similar spot to Boise State last night, a “worse” team at home bringing in big bets as the favorite. Oddsmakers believe the Horned Frogs have an edge tonight; you should too.
