USC vs. Arizona Prediction: Will the Wildcats Bounce Back?

Arizona is one of the best teams in the country. They’ve shown signs of weakness recently though, dropping a game to Stanford and losing to Arizona State on a half-court buzzer-beater. Many will be betting on the Wildcats to bounce back from recent losses. Personally, I think they have their toughest challenge of the season yet in Los Angeles tonight.

USC vs. Arizona Prediction

Azuolas Tubelis is the closest player comp we’ve ever seen to Nikola Jokic, and 7’0” Center Oumar Ballo is just a beast. Courtney Ramey, the Longhorns transfer, is starting to play his best basketball of the season to go along with the always-consistent Kerr Kriisa. Even with all this talent, something feels off about this team as we head into March. It’s extremely concerning to see a top-10 team lose to a struggling Stanford squad. Then they give up 89 points to Arizona State on their home floor and lose. The Wildcats aren’t known for their defense, but their woes have worsened of late. This team is giving up way too many points to inferior talent.

The Trojans are currently playing their best basketball of the season. After losing to Oregon State a few weeks ago, it seems like USC has flipped a switch. They are showing more tenacity and heart over the last two weeks than they showed the entire season combined. Boogie Ellis is leading the charge, averaging 23 ppg since the Oregon State loss. USC has won and covered all four games since that loss.

They are a different team, stepping up on the defensive side of the ball. They recently held a veteran Utah team to 49 points on their home floor. Before that, USC gave up only 65 points to a Colorado team that’s been dominant at home all season. They also recently beat Stanford, a team Arizona couldn’t recently beat. It’s looking like the Trojans want to go dancing in March, and with a key opportunity tonight against a ranked opponent, this game is pivotal for their postseason chances.

Arizona is currently getting hammered with bets, bringing in over 75% of bets and handle on the spread at DraftKings. The line isn’t budging though, holding at Arizona -2. This is a great sign for USC bettors, as DraftKings is clearly content with being overexposed with Arizona bets. Back the Trojans at home to stay hot and hand Arizona their third loss in five games.
