Memphis vs. Houston Prediction: Should Houston Be on Upset Alert in American Conference Battle?
When Davis announced he was transferring from SMU to Memphis, many thought leaving one school for a conference rival was an interesting decision. Davis returned to SMU the other night, the student section was letting him hear it, chanting “traitor” throughout the game. He was able to silence the haters with 23 points and 10 assists.

Memphis vs. Houston Prediction
All the hype surrounding the senior this offseason was for good reason. Kendric has proven that he is one of the best scorers in college basketball. He reminds me a little of Ja Morant at Murray State a couple of years ago, with a smaller build with explosive quickness to the basket. After a slow start to the season, Kendric has been essentially a walking 20-piece in conference play. There is a direct correlation between his play and the recent success of Memphis. Penny Hardaway and the Tigers are replicating their 2022 end-of-season heater. Winners of eight of their last ten, Houston isn’t the only team in the American on a hot streak.
Memphis and Houston's games are generally worth the watch. This time around will be no different, as we finally get to see Kendric Davis take a shot at Houston. He missed the first game between these two teams when they were on the road a few weeks ago. Even without Davis, the Tigers showed serious heart and covered with ease. This afternoon they get a second chance at slaying Goliath. Houston may be the best team in the country, but Memphis is no slouch, especially at home. The Tigers have one loss this season at the FedEx Forum. This team is still trying to prove to the nation that they are legit contenders, not just some mid-team in the American conference with an NBA legend for a coach.
This Memphis basketball team is playing pissed off, and it’s working. Davis got a technical at SMU for chirping the refs and was seen yelling at one of the assistants when he was pulled to rest. Penny Hardaway and these kids aren’t messing around. They took all of the negative comments personally when the media called Coach Hardaway’s head last year. Well, in both years coaching his alma mater, his Tigers have aged like a fine wine. Memphis clearly plays their best basketball when it matters, and what game means more than a chance to knock off the #1 team in the country on national television in your home arena? Grab Kendric Davis and the Tigers before the line gets any shorter.
