I was surprised to see this much value in a year when nobody really stood out in the ACC. Everyone beat up on each other for the most part, and the league overall is considered to be having a “down year.” We’ve heard this plenty in recent years, but the ACC always shows up when it matters. Let's get into my future bet.

ACC Tournament Prediction
If you take a quick look at these odds, you’ll notice one team towards the bottom of the standings that seems to be getting some respect from bookmakers. Virginia Tech finished 11th in the conference but has shorter odds than a few “better” teams. If you followed this conference in 2023, you know that the Hokies severely underperformed. Well, Virginia Tech is currently playing its best basketball of the season. Oh, and did I mention they have a great path to the championship?
I couldn’t have picked a better draw for the Hokies myself in this bracket. If they can get through Notre Dame in Mike Brey’s last game as their head coach, I don’t see anyone stopping them before the Championship on Saturday. The Hokies almost beat NC State already this season, and the Wolfpack has taken a step back since that earlier matchup.
Then Virginia Tech would fade a Clemson team they should have beaten in January, twice. We know how hard it is to beat a team three times in a single season, especially two teams as equal as Clemson and VT. When the Hokies upset Clemson, they face an old rival, the University of Virginia. The Hokies have beaten UVA already this year, and we know these games always go down to the wire. When Virginia Tech upsets Virginia, it will be must-see television.
The two teams I am scared of facing won’t come into play until the championship. Both Miami and Duke do pose a threat to the Hokies, but Mike Young has plenty of film and room to improve against the ACC’s best. The good news for the Hokies is that they will only have to face one of these teams in the tournament. At (+5000), you really couldn’t ask for better value on an underperforming sleeper who’s peaking at the right time. Virginia Tech has won its last two games by a combined 39 points. They enter this week with a chance to put the rest of the conference on notice; the ACC title still runs through Blacksburg. The Hokies still believe… do you?
