It has been a season to forget for the Sooners in 2023. Although they do have some impressive upsets under their belt, they have disappointed compared to preseason expectations.

Oklahoma vs Oklahoma State Prediction
The Porter Moser experiment hasn’t worked, as many thought he’d bring the Sister Jean magic over from Loyola Chicago. The Groves brothers have been mid at best; one of them barely even plays. The one bright spot for the Sooner has been Grant Sherfield, the Nevada transfer. Sherfield has carried the Sooners in all of their wins and upsets this season. He dropped 20 against TCU the other night in a win, had 22 against Kansas State, and a 30-piece in a dominant win over Alabama. Let’s not forget his respectable 22 and 25-point performances against WVU and Kansas earlier this season, or the 22 he dropped against Texas in a one-point loss.
When Sherfield is on, Oklahoma can beat anyone. Those are some very impressive performances from the senior that lead to some crazy upsets. Does Sherfield have one more legacy performance left in him?
Oklahoma State is no slouch when it comes to pulling off upsets either. This team wins with defense, a little different strategy than that of the Sooners. OKST holds the 65th-rated defense in the country. They win with effort and defensive tenacity. This team has been great at home for years but we're not in Oklahoma anymore. OKST is extremely beatable outside of Stillwater. They have also been missing guard Avery Anderson for quite some time. Without Anderson, OKST now lacks a scorer who can create on his own. Without their star, OKST has looked like a shell of itself these past couple of weeks.
There are rumors that Anderson may return tonight for the Big 12 tournament. If he returns, and the line stays at OKST -1, I will be doubling down on Oklahoma. That is a trap line if I’ve ever seen one. You never want to back the “better team” as a short favorite when their star returns from injury; the public will hammer OKST with bets if this scenario plays out. If Anderson doesn’t play, the Cowboys will be without their offensive spark and continue to struggle. Either way, you should feel comfortable with your moment on the hungrier Sooners coming off an impressive win against TCU…especially with over 70% of the bets already pouring in on Oklahoma State.
