Houston vs. Auburn Prediction, Pick Against the Spread, and Latest Odds for Round of 32

The Auburn Tigers and the Houston Cougars will meet up from Birmingham, Alabama, on Saturday night for a much-anticipated affair. Houston comes into this game as a No. 1 seed, although they have not played like one of their last couple of games.

Houston vs. Auburn Prediction

Memphis beat Houston in the American Athletic Conference Championship. They followed that up with a close game that they won over the No. 16 seed Northern Kentucky; Houston did win the game, but Head Coach Kelvin Sampson said that he was very concerned after the win.

The reason for that is due to the health of star Marcus Sasser. He is questionable to play tonight, but even if he does play, it is clear that he not be anywhere near one hundred percent. It was also reported that star guard Jamal Shead is dealing with a knee injury, although he played the majority of the game in round one.

Auburn, meanwhile, took down Iowa in round one in a game that they controlled from the jump. This is a physical and athletic Auburn team that Bruce Pearl coaches. Pearl should have his guys ready today with an opportunity to reach the sweet sixteen. One hit to watch out for in this game is big man Johni Broome, who is the top scorer for the Tigers.

I am all over Auburn as a dog in this game. Auburn really impressed me in round one, and there are a few reasons that I like them to get it done here. The first reason is the location of the game. This game will be played in Birmingham, Alabama, which means that Auburn will be well represented, and the atmosphere could feel like a home one for the Tigers. The second reason is Houston is banged up. I expect Sasser to play, but he will be limited, which has clearly slowed this team down. Let’s cash in on the dog!
