Texas vs. Penn State Prediction

Penn State comes into this game feeling great about its recent play. Two weeks ago, it was questionable if Penn State was going to make March Madness, and now they are playing with a chance to go to the sweet 16. Penn State made easy work of a very talented Texas A&M team as a strong shooting performance led them by Andrew Funk.

The star of this Penn State team is Jalen Pickett, who earned himself second-team all-American. Pickett is the main reason that Penn State is in this spot, and if they pull off the super today, he will have to turn in a big-time performance.

Texas won the Big 12 Tournament and rolled in their first game of the tournament as expected. In my eyes, Texas is the most dangerous No. 2 seed. Texas is led by Marcus Carr, who is having a career year, but this is a team that has multiple guys that can take over a game. Texas is also one of the best defenses in the nation, and it will be fun to see how they match up with this unorthodox Penn State offense. Texas comes into this game as a five-and-a-half-point favorite.

I am backing the Longhorns today and fading the public dog. I understand why so many people are taking Penn State as they have been playing some inspiring basketball as of late, but they now run into a buzzsaw in this Texas team. Texas has so many players that can hurt you, and I question if Penn State will be able to keep pace facing this hard-nosed Penn State defense. Let’s cash in!
