Drew Timme 20+ Points (-128) (Bet $128 to collect $228)
*Best Odds Available at FanDuel*
This is an awesome matchup for Drew Timme. The Gonzaga senior has scored at least 17 points in 10 of his last 11 games and in 28 of 34 games this season. The Texas native's efficiency was off the charts, as he shot 62.4% from the field. Meanwhile, TCU has been without center Eddie Lampkin Jr. since March 1st, and their interior defense has suffered.
TCU is 4-6 over their last ten games without Lampkin, and they've allowed some monster games to big men during this stretch. In Lampkin's absence, the Horned Frogs conceded 27 points to Mississippi State's Tolu Smith, 25 points to OSU's Kalib Boone, and 23 points to Oklahoma's Tanner Groves. Timme is far more talented than any of these guys as a scorer, and TCU's now undersized lineup may struggle to find answers for the 2-time WCC Player of the Year.
Drew Timme has scored 20+ points in eight of his ten career NCAA Tournament games and 25+ points in five of 10, averaging 22.5 PPG. Gonzaga is poised to make another Sweet 16 run, and it will be on the back of Timme.
Keyontae Johnson Over 16.5 Points (-122) (Bet $122 to collect $222)
*Best Odds Available at FanDuel*
Keyontae Johnson is one of the greatest stories in college basketball. In December 2020, he collapsed on the court when he was still a member of the Florida Gators. He went 23 months before seeing game action again, now as a fifth-year senior at Kansas State. He's since become one of the best scorers in the country, leading K-State in scoring en route to the program's most successful regular season since 2010.
Johnson has shined brightest in K-State's biggest games, too. He averaged 23.2 PPG in six games against Kansas, Texas, and Baylor, dropping 20+ points in five of these six games. In a huge matchup against Kentucky, he should be incredibly involved in the offense all day.
The 22-year-old played 39 minutes in Friday's victory over Montana State and has played over 35 minutes per game since Big 12 conference play began. Johnson reached this over in 14 of 21 games when seeing 35+ minutes this season, averaging 19.3 PPG in these games. He's the key to K-State's Sweet 16 hopes today.
Adam Flagler Over 3.5 Assists (-130) (Bet $130 to collect $230)
*Best Odds Available at DraftKings*
Adam Flagler is the leader of the 2023 Baylor Bears in every possible way. Most importantly, he's a calming presence on the court. He took over as the team's lead playmaker in their first-round victory over UCSB, just like he's done all season.
His 4.7 assists per game led the Bears this season, and his five assists on Friday afternoon led the team. He's the most experienced of Baylor's three-headed backcourt monster. Keyonte George is only a freshman, and LJ Cryer played far less than Flagler when Baylor won the 2021 National Championship.
Flagler dished out at least four assists in 16 of his last 20 games and in 23 of 31 games this season. He also finished with 4+ assists in 10 of 11 games when seeing at least 36 minutes this season. I expect 36-38 minutes of action for the senior lead guard as Scott Drew's Bears look to continue playing into the tournament's second weekend of action.
