Gonzaga vs. UConn Prediction
The Gonzaga Bulldogs vs. the UConn Huskies will clash on Saturday night with a trip to the Final Four on the line. Let’s quickly recap how these two teams got into this position.
UConn took down Iona in a game that they trailed at the half, and they followed that win up with a pair of blowout wins over St. Mary's and, most recently, Arkansas. You can make a legitimate argument that the Huskies currently look like the best team in college basketball. Both Adama Sonogo and Jordan Hawkins have led the Huskies. Sonogo will have his toughest task of the tournament tonight, going head-to-head with all-American Drew Timme.
The Zags took care of Grand Canyon in the Round of 64 and followed that up with a close win over TCU. Their most recent game was an instant classic as they held off a late push from UCLA. Gonzaga is currently playing with extreme confidence, especially on the offensive side of the basketball. The Zags have trailed by at least eight points in all three of their games in the tournament, showing their ability to play from behind. Drew Timme is coming off the best game of his career, and he will look to follow that up with a strong performance today and get his team into the Final Four.
I am all over the Zags today. As you all know, this is my team to win the National Championship, and I am very surprised to see that we are getting three points here. UConn has been solid this tournament, but let’s call a spade a spade; their path has not been all that difficult. The public has seen their recent play, and they are jumping all over them, which has shifted this line to UConn. Let’s not forget that Gonzaga just took down one of the best teams in college basketball, UCLA, and a very good TCU team. I think the Zags match up extremely well with UConn and will establish their style of play early. Let’s stay hot and cash in!
