Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul Picks & Predictions

We are officially two weeks away from Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul on June 6, in Miami. It will undoubtedly be an event full of sights and sounds you don’t want to miss. Just look imagine Jake Paul vs. Ben Askren on steroids. But, there will also be a fight taking place. And, more importantly, you’re officially allowed to bet on that fight with our friends over at bet365 rolling out Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul odds earlier this month. So, who should you be betting? It’s time to break down the Mayweather vs. Paul odds and get a pick for the fight.

Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul Picks

Breaking down this fight is difficult. The prices aren’t great and there isn’t a lot of tape out there on Logan Paul. But, we know a lot about Mayweather and can put together and pretty good picture for our Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul pick.

Floyd Mayweather

Floyd Mayweather is, without a shadow of a doubt, the best boxer of his generation. Whenever he does officially retire from the game, he will go down as one of the best boxers to ever lace up the gloves.

He has impeccable hand speed and timing, but what makes him truly elite is his “Philly Shell” defense. It usually doesn’t take long for a professional boxer to take their licks. But Mayweather has literally never taken his. He’s never been hit hard and he’s been knocked down just once in his entire 50-fight career. Not to mention that knockdown came when he jammed his wrist on his opponent’s forehead in 2001.

Mayweather is impossible to hit and does a great job of picking his spots. He’s never had bit-time knockout power, but he throws when he needs to and constantly makes opponents look silly.

Now, he’s 44 years old and hasn’t fought since 2017, so you can expect some rust. But is it enough to make this one a competitive fight against a YouTuber?

Logan Paul

Yes, Logan Paul is a YouTuber and has one professional fight under his belt. But, he’s also known to be a pretty good athlete and was once a Division I wrestler at Ohio University.

Logan Paul fought fellow YouTuber KSI in his only ever professional boxing fight. It wasn’t pretty. KSI spent the fight flailing and throwing over the top power punches while Paul looked for an opportunity to counter. The result was a loss by Paul when the fight when to the judge’s cards. So, he goes into Mayweather vs. Paul at 0-1.

I expect Paul to be much improved since we last saw him in the ring. He and his brother appear to be taking boxing seriously and training daily. That should lead to him stepping on the gas a little more than just sitting back. But, he’ll also be going up against a much better boxer. The best boxer we’ve seen since maybe Mike Tyson.

Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul Prediction

Here is the deal. As the fight stands right now, there isn’t much value in a Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul pick. The odds are such that Paul is just +700, which isn’t really a sizeable enough price to justify dropping money on him as he’s a massive longshot in reality. And at -1600, I’m not sure dropping $1,600 just to win $100 is worth it. But, for now, the pick is Floyd Mayweather to defeat Logan Paul. I don’t think there is any chance Paul will be able to hit Floyd Mayweather, no matter how much bigger he is than the former champ. I fully expect Mayweather to pick his spots and play defense, like he always has. Fighting KSI and fighting Floyd Mayweather are two completely different battles and Paul is in for a world of hurt.
