Jose Ramirez vs Jose Pedraza Prediction and Best Bet: A Wicked Clash for the Ages

Later tonight in the sunnyside city of Fresno California we have two former world champions duking it out for our joy and pleasure as durable phenom Jose Ramirez takes on the savvy veteran Jose Pedraza in a wicked clash for the ages.

This fiery matchup will look to transpire for the sole sake of determining the next title challenger in the junior welterweight division. Ramirez is eager to bounce back rejuvenated and fresh 8 months after his loss against PFP familiar Josh Taylor, while Pedraza has rattled off 3 consecutive wins in a row to position himself in this contender eliminator.

Although one seems to be hitting his stride with the slew of recent news, the betting favorite by a large margin falls with the individual coming off a defeat in Ramirez. Pedraza has been finished only once to strikes by none other than Gervonta “Tank” Davis, while the orthodox volume specialist Ramirez has been simply outpointed by the aforementioned “Tartan Tornado” Taylor in his sole falter.

So what exactly can we expect to see in this Top Rank sanctioned striker's delight? It seems quite glaring what the boxing promoters are trying to accomplish by setting up these two to brawl. While no doubt destined to really bring out a slugfest between these warriors from the tumultuous meeting alone, Jose Ramirez is no doubt the A-side in this situation and is being groomed accordingly to get the dub and get back on track in his career.

The fact of the matter is Pedraza, while tough, is as much of a champion as Linares was, which was that of paper. Bonafide resilient of guys who can absorb a shot but get outworked frivolously, these types of fighters are fan favorites but do not provide much substance over their flashy bombastic styles. I see Ramirez covering his ridiculous price tag and then some, with the ex-champ peppering Pedraza’s body then going upstairs to hammer his face round after round. I don’t believe Ramirez will be able to finish Jose, as the man is good for taking a beating and has shown great heart even in his squanders.

This elasticity shouldn't matter at the end of the day,  as just because he can stick around to the scorecards does not mean he's going to put up any worthwhile offense or look decent in front of the judges. Give me the beastly bruiser Jose Ramirez to win by decision prop for all the marbles, and all for all the units.
