Finally, after much deliberation, we get one of the consensus pfp goats in Alexander Volkanovski, taking on the always dangerous striker in "the featherweight cowboy" Chan Sung Jung. The Kangaroo fighter Alexander looks to add the Korean Zombie to his ever-growing laundry list of prestigious MMA names to his mantle, with the 5 foot 6 destroyer beating the likes of Jose Aldo, Chad Mendes, and Brian Ortega, to name a few.

As his name suggests, Mr. Zombie is a durable pressure boxer with a substantial ground fighting acumen to boot. He is fresh off a win over the amazing nickname "Dynamite" Dan Ige, where he showcased how truly well-rounded his skillset is when taking the path of least resistance in the grappling department.
Even though his most recent outing was a clear-cut decision in his favor, it's hard to forget the lopsided fumbling The Korean Zombie had in his bout just a few years ago to Brian Ortega, a contender. The latter, as previously stated, was quite handedly stoned by "The Great" in his first defense outside of Max Holloway. Dominating from pillar to post, offering little head movement, and providing relatively no offense to the predominant grappler, Zombie must look to engage early and often when duking it out with the point fighter general in Volkanovski. He will need some sort of finish against the Aussie foe, as I do not trust a man who has been able to outhustle Holloway and Ortega to lose any decision whatsoever.

For the champion, Volk must look to suffocate Zombie in the octagon and treat his opponent coming in on short notice as such. The way I see it is if a competent ref were doing his job, there would have been a stoppage when "The Great" was hammering away at the corpse of Ortega in their match, and if that is any indication of how this fight is going to play out that means you can look forward to it having complete carnage from beginning to end.
Either Volk finishes The Zombie with his tremendous work rate and due to Jung not having a legendary Mexican Chin, or The Zombie catches Volk with his trademark shovel uppercuts that he has hit on shorter opponents like Dennis Bermudez and closes the show with style points. I lean on the Australian to finish late, but you never know with the mythical Korean Zombie mixed up into the fray.
