Moving on to the featured bout of the evening, “Iron” Michael Chandler vs “El Cucuy” Tony Ferguson might be the most testosterone-filled matchup to ever grace the octagon. Perhaps one of the most prolific finishers in lightweight history, Tony Ferguson is back at it again with the white vans and darce intentions. Bellator royalty Michael Chandler emerges from being into the thick of it last time out to once again stake his claim for the next shot at the strap, all while doing it with bombastic veracity. Chandler is no spring chicken as well but has been taking care of himself in and out of the cage with a rigorous health plan and workout routine proving once again that if you treat this sport like a lifestyle and not an occasional festivity you are surely able to get more longevity out if it when it's all said and done. Although the white Mike Tyson is a very well rounded versatile fighter, he is prone to having a suspect gas tank in the later rounds and is somewhat hittable with his hands down frenetic approach. I honestly think Chandler is more prone to getting a decision based off of Ferguson's unworldly toughness, but you never know when the lights are going to just shut off in Tony’s mind so playing the distance prop is going to be a tricky gamble nevertheless.
When it's wrapped up however, I think what's going to transpire in this fight and the best course of action for Michael Chandler is to headhunt El Cucuey early and often in the 1st, garnering his respect and then following it up with chain wrestling for rounds 2 and 3 in an effort to conserve energy and simultaneously suffocate any offense that Tony the Tiger might try to mount. The over 1.5 is an absolute gift in my eyes as you're essentially needing only 7.5 minutes for 2 grotesquely tough individuals to survive so look to hammer that play like oxygen.
