In the main event of the Bellator event on Friday morning for us Non-UKers we have Michael 'Venom' Page going up against Logan Storley. MVP has risen up the rankings and Bellator folklore by delivering highlight reel after highlight reel knockout for our viewing pleasure. Storley on the other hand, not so much. His claim to fame in large part has to do with going to a split decision with the current champion Yamasarov and more recently, a dub over perennial title bridesmaid Neiman Gracie.

On paper here we have your classic striker vs grappler matchup, fairly binary it would seem but there are some interesting caveats. The main one is that MVP is no run-of-the-mill striker, being more akin to an Anderson Silva than your average Joe Smoe. A secondary reason that this won't be your walk in the park black and white contest is that it is to be held in Victorian England. Expect home cooking from the judges as a result of its UK placement, where a potential robbery is well and truly on the table.

It's for these variables and more is why I find it rather perplexing that the bookmakers have slated MVP as a more than 2 to 1 underdog over Storley. Page is going to be clearly superior on the feet, his takedown defense is actually quite underrated, and he has more experience with the bright lights, competing in Bellator's 1 million dollar tournament just a few fights back. To top it off he will be competing in his own backyard, leading me to believe these lines are due to a gross exaggeration of Storey's ceiling after his last performance.
If you want to throw some dough on a seriously caked line in hopes of it being a bad stylistic matchup, by all means, go with Logan. But if you seek value and considerable return on investment take a stab at MVP, particularly his spread as I don't see him getting finished or being down on the scorecards, too bad if at all.
