Antonina Shevchenko vs. Cortney Casey Prediction

The older of the Schevchenko sisters will fight tonight when Antonina Schevcenko faces off against Courtney Casey. The books have the champions' sister favored at -175 to get back in the win column after back-to-back losses. I think she gets it done.

Antonina Schevchenko may not be as dominant as her sister, but she is decent. Her striking is looking more and more polished with every fight, and despite only being in the UFC for four years, she has been matched up with some of the best in the flyweight division. Her third fight in the UFC was against Roxanne Modafferi (her first loss), and her fifth fight was against Katlyn Chookagian (her second loss). That's a tough entry for anyone.

Antonina is coming off back-to-back losses, but she is better set up for victory this time around to right the ship. Her last two fights were against excellent grapplers, and Antonina's striking looked stifled. Now, she faces a fellow striker in a fight that should remain on her feet the entire time.

Courtney Casey is now 6-8 in the UFC, and it doesn't look like she has been able to find her footing, despite years in the promotion. She is coming off a win recently, however, but it was to Liana Jojua, which was basically a gimme bout for Casey. This will be no gimme for Casey, as she is facing an aged but hungry Schevchenko.

Schevchenko throws less volume, but she is highly accurate in her strikes and lands with bad intentions. This is an excellent spot for Schevchenko to shine and show off her improved striking. She should win based on landing the heavier shots and ultimately more damage throughout the entire fight. I'm okay eating some juice to back Schevchenko in this one.
