UFC Fight Night Parlay Breakdown
Leg 1: Tresean Gore by KO/TKO @ +290
Tresean Gore is an inexperienced fighter with only five professional fights under his belt and raw technique. So why would I bet on him then? Well, despite his lack of experience, he is an insanely athletic fighter who is extremely powerful. He is also going to be the faster and more powerful striker in this matchup. Cody Brundage is an ex-collegiate wrestler who is like the guy on UFC 4 who uses Khabib and spams the takedown button. He constantly searches for entries, sometimes seeming to forget his opponent is throwing at him. However, he hasn't been highly successful thus far, landing only 25% of his takedowns in the promotion. Gore is also a strong fighter who has been able to stave off takedown attempts from his opponents with sheer strength. I'm not sure how much success Brundage will have wrestling, and he is outmatched speed and strength-wise on the feet at this point in each of their careers.
I expect this fight to look a lot like Brundage's loss in the Contender Series. He will shoot over and over and get caught in a bad position for a powerful jab in doing so. I expect the strength of Gore and the hand speed to clip Brundage at some point when he's looking for a takedown and finish the fight.
Leg 2: Caio Borralho by Submission @ +310
Caio Borralho and Armen Petrosyan are both Contender Series alumni who are highly-touted prospects, which is why we are seeing them in the co-main event so early in their careers. Also, we know Dana loves his Contender Series alumni. I love Borralho to win by submission in this fight because of his underrated grappling. In his UFC debut, Borralho faced a wrestler and basically beat him at his own game, racking up ten minutes of control time in a decisive victory. Sure, he won that fight by decision, but Petrosyan is far behind Omargadzhiev in terms of grappling and submission defense. On the feet, I rate both guys reasonably similar, with Petrosyan having more volume but Borralho having more patience and better counters. The more Petrosyan pressures Borralho on the feet as well, the more Borralho will want to take it to the ground. Either way, I think Borrlaho knows he has a path to victory by submission, given Petrosyan's raw submission defensive and grappling. I think Borralho can make him tap.
Leg 3: Ricky Turcios by Decision @ +135
I love Ricky Turcios. He fights with a ferocious pace, and he is scrappy as hell. He exploits his opponents' mistakes and is as tough as they come. Both men still have a lot to prove, but Turcios looks like the much more well-rounded fighter at this point in their careers. As far as advantages go, I give Zahabi the edge in power, but Turcios is excellent at entering and escaping the pocket to avoid power shots. He can also eat shots, so it may take more than just one big shot to get Turcios out of the fight. Turcios ultimately should land more often and maybe even mix in some wrestling here to grind out a win, provided he doesn't get knocked out.
UFC Vegas 3-Leg Parlay @ +3657 (Bet $100 to win $3,657)
- Leg 1: Tresean Gore by KO/TKO @ +290
- Leg 2: Caio Borralho by Submission @ +310
