Dustin Jacoby vs. Da-Un Jung Prediction
To close out the early prelims, we have the former Glory Kickboxing Alum, Dustin Jacoby, going up against Da-Un Jung in a battle of leg kicks with some punches thrown in there to add insult to injury. Jacoby is coming off perhaps an undisclosed ailment, but the most gargantuan stretch of his career nonetheless as he is 5 fights deep full of immaculate victories, all during his second stint inside the UFC octagon.
Da-Un Jung has rarely tasted defeat, opting to lose only before his UFC tenure and go as far as to draw with Sam Alvey before he would experience loss again. These two light heavyweight behemoths are poised to put on an absolute Kickboxing clinic come Saturday, but it will be the cool and calm Korean no doubt introducing a takedown or two into the fray. Jacoby's defense when it comes to grappling has been nothing short of spectacular up to this point, but one can't overlook when he was taken down over 7 times in one round against Ion Cutelaba.
Even though Cutelaba kind of sucks, you can make the argument he is one of the best pure wrestlers in the division, either way; it's not a great look for Dustin and his ground maneuvering prowess. So when it's all said and done, will Jacoby keep his winning streak intact, or will the Korean Chad scalp his record and look to start a grand one of his own?
I think Jacoby has him beat in the standup affairs If I'm being completely honest, he throws much more than Jung and more colorful shots to boot, not just pure volume. The fact of the matter is Da-Un Jung was getting outlasted by Sam Alvey, freaking Sam Alvey of all people. If this stays on the feet it's going to be a wash for the Jacoby case closed.
But alas, this is MMA, not Kickboxing, and the takedowns change the entire dynamic of whether you like it or not.
