Don'Tale Mayes vs. Hamdy Abdelwahab Prediction

Although this Saturday's UFC event might not hold exactly the most tumultuous star-studded cast of characters, an absolute lock this week in my opinion can be found once again on the preliminary card. Don'Tale "Awesome Kong" Mayes does not have much going for him in terms of fans, but what he makes it up is through his 80+ inch reach and devastating elbows from hell.

His opponent is fairly unknown even on the regional circuit, some say he is a standout Egyptian Olympic wrestler. Others say he is a bum. Regardless of what you think of him, the fact of the matter is he is stepping into the octagon and fighting for his life in order to entertain the masses watching at home on the couch. While his bravery is commendable, he is going to die nevertheless. Handy Abdelawab is a 6-foot-2 whippersnapper with a pitiful 73-inch reach and a disgustingly padded record. The "murderers row" of bums he has faced is so repugnant that he has actually fought some of them multiple times, with one notable standout being the 6-foot-6 0-2 Walter Strickland, who should probably be more of a contestant on my 400-pound life than in the not so squared circle.

I don't know what dirt this guy has on Dana or what secret deal he made with the Saudis to make this fight happen but I almost guarantee it ends abruptly and violently for Abdelawab. Mayes is not exactly a world beater or anything but he should comfortably roll here.  If he can avoid the telegraphed right hand and grappling of the Egyptian he should coast easily into a late finish or a decision. Expect Dontale to stuff the pathetic takedowns of Handy in the first few rounds, only to follow up with devastating judo tosses and subsequent hellacious ground and pound to get the finish in round 3.
