Derrick Lewis vs. Sergey Spivak Prediction

It's with immense pride and great joy that I present to you the main event of the evening, as Derrick "The Black Beast" Lewis goes up against "The Other Moldovan" Sergey Spivak. Derrick has had a rough go of it as of late, with the KO king on the verge of being on a three-fight skid if he manages to fumble the bag yet again on Saturday. The man who sometimes goes by "Polar Bear" is riding high going into the apex, with victories in five out of his last six contests being nothing to scoff at. It has come to my attention that Sergey Spivak might be on perhaps the best cycle of his life not just careerwise, but in the performance enhancer department as well. He has put on a sizable amount of muscle and ferocity dating back to when he encountered Greg Hardy in the ides of  March.

The fact of the matter is that if you compare Spivak's physique and demeanor from the current point, to when he fought Walt Harris, the man has truly leveled up in all aspects of Mixed Martial Arts, particularly in the strength department. If you are borderline ragdolling a 270-pound former NFL defensive end like a newborn child and pummeling the great Augusto Sakai's head to the canvas with ruthless aggression, you are obviously on some good juice and will be caught soon by USADA if you don't dot your Ps and Qs. Lewis has had a historically excellent run over pure grappler types like Spivak, with that particular prophecy culminating with a demolition of the gigachad grappler Curtis Blaydes early last year.

While that trend definitely poses cause for concern, at the end of the day he is currently riding a one-loss streak against guys named Sergey, so I believe because of it the voodoo superstition cancels out in that particular department. Barring yet another comeback from behind, overhand right from hell by the Black Beast, expect Sergey Spivak to body lock almost immediately. He'll judo toss him to the floor and reign down hellacious ground and pound until the ref calls it, or the opportunity for a submission presents itself, and Lewis gives up together from the bad position.
