The second thing that is rather out of left field pertaining to the bout is how it is only like two cards removed from Waldo's debut, a victorious effort in which his lead leg got kicked to absolute smithereens.
I'm not going to be that obnoxious guy that tries to expose how bad Waldo's lower body defense was in his fight with Vanderra, but it definitely poses a concern for future endeavors he might have in the cage.
While Waldo could definitely find himself improving on whatever shortcomings he might have elicited in his first fight with the UFC, I doubt he can make any proper adjustments over the course of less than a month, as at the end of the day he has probably been more concerned with icing his legs than studying check defense fundamentals.
Chase Sherman is a jack of all trades master of none type of fighter, but perhaps the most pivotal tool in his arsenal especially in this specific scenario would most definitely be the leg kicks, something that could be used for great effect against the compromised Cortes.
